Welcome to Myoko!
Occupying a corner of Niigata Prefecture extending into neighboring
Nagano, Myoko is one of
the oldest established ski areas in the world; the first resort in
the area opened in the early 1930s! Unlike many modern ski towns,
Myoko grew up around its mountain—and
the small-town feeling is still very strong here.
It's a four-season place, but one best known for welcoming guests
to a wide selection of ski slopes blanketed by some 14 meters of
snowfall annually.
